There are a few different household products that you can use to clean red wine out of your carpets. First, you want to blot the stain as much as you can with a clean, dry towel. From there, you can use club soda on the stain, and then blot, repeating as necessary.
If you don’t have club soda on hand, you can make a cleaning solution with a tablespoon of dish soap, a tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water. Apply the solution to the stain and then blot. Repeat as necessary.
Another way to clean up red wine from your carpet is with hydrogen peroxide. Do keep in mind that this can discolor your carpet, especially if your carpet is a darker color. So, you’ll want to test out a small spot before applying it all over. The cleaning solution you make for this is two parts hydrogen peroxide and one part dish soap.
To get red wine out of your upholstery, you can use a clothing stain remover, or a solution of baking soda and vinegar. Whatever method you choose to use, remember to blot the stain and not scrub it.
