Many people love to burn candles in their home, especially around the holiday season. While they can smell great and add an extra layer of warmth to your home, they can also make a big mess. Whether you have candlesticks that drip wax on your floor, or you accidentally knock over a candle and the wax goes everywhere, candle wax is a real pain to clean up.
If you spill candle wax on your carpet or upholstery, use a butter knife to get up as much of the wax as you can. Then, cover the remaining spots with a damp washcloth. Place a hot iron over the washcloth for a few seconds. The heat will loosen the wax and draw it into the wet washcloth. You can repeat this method as many times as needed until all of the wax is gone.
If you spill wax on hard surfaces like your countertops, tile, or hardwood floors, you can use a butter knife to gently scrape the wax off. However, be sure not to be too rough or you could scratch your floors and/or countertops.
