It happens to the best of us: we all spill our drink in our home at some point. If you have kids, this is likely a weekly, maybe even daily occurrence. If we’re lucky, it happens on tile or hardwood floors, and we can easily mop it up. However, sometimes we spill our drinks on our carpet or our furniture, and it’s a little more tricky to clean up. Don’t worry though, there’s no need to cry over spilled drinks. Here are some cleaning tips to help you out:
- One of the most cringe-worthy things to drop is red wine. As soon as you spill your wine, blot up as much as you can. Then, pour club soda on it, and blot up the club soda. Repeat if necessary.
- For soda stains, blot up as much as you can to begin with. Then, make a cleaning solution using ¼ teaspoon of non-bleach detergent with warm water. Dampen a cloth with this solution and then pat the stain. Let it sit for 15 minutes. Next, make a solution using 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water. Take a cloth dipped in this solution and cover the stain with the cloth. Set something heavy on it and let it sit for 15 minutes. Remove the cloth and blot the stain.
- For spilled chocolate milk, blot up the stain as much as you can. Next, cover the stain with table salt and let it sit for 20 minutes to absorb the remaining liquid. Then, vacuum up the salt. Next, make a cleaning solution with warm water and dish soap and blot the stain, and then use a clean, damp cloth to wipe up the soap mixture.
- If you spill your coffee, you’ll want to blot up as much liquid as you can. Then, make a cleaning solution with 1 tablespoon of dish soap, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water. Damped a cloth with this mixture and apply it to the stain. Then, use a dry cloth to blot up any remaining liquid. Finally, use a cloth with cold water to blot up any of the remaining stain.
Even with your best efforts, some stains are stubborn, and we’re here to help you get rid of them. So, give us a call at Premium Care Solutions in Greenville, NC and Wilson, NC.
